Climate Action Summit
Local Action Against Global Warming
The Ethical Society of St. Louis
9001 Clayton Rd, St. Louis, MO 63117
Saturday, March 8 , 2008
9:30 am - 1:00 pm
Climate change is one of the most serious challenges facing our generation. Missouri is a major contributor to climate change as Missouri had the nation's fifth highest increase in per capita carbon dioxide emissions from 1990-2003.
Local action on climate change is critical. To date, 780 mayors have signed the U.S. Mayors' Climate Protection Agreement. Participating cities pledge to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions by supporting clean energy, constructing green buildings, using energy efficient lighting and appliances, and more. Click to see if your Mayor has signed.
This event was sponsored by the Missouri Coalition for the Environment, the Sierra Club, Women's Voices Raised for Social Justice, and the Ethical Society of St. Louis.
